Portfolio
As a student in my advanced History and Theory of Rhetoric class, Angela often carried class discussions with her curiosity and deep knowledge of literature and philosophy. This course also had a substantial professionalization component where we discussed the contemporary publishing landscape in America, its relationships to higher education and disciplinarity, and the lesser known realities of publishing such as securing permissions, marketing questionnaires and focus groups, usability testing, developing marketing copy and materials, and working with diverse teams of authors, editors, designers, and other professionals on large-scale, complex projects. It is on this last point (working on large-scale, complex projects) that Angela especially excels, as one of the requirements of my class is to propose, plan, and execute a substantial project over the course of the semester, which she did with her usual professionalism, nuance, and exceptional project management skills. In fact, Angela is truly in the top 1% of students I have ever worked with, especially when it comes to project management.
